ACAE

It is an independent no-profit certification body, which was founded in 1991 and which is active in the field of electrical low-voltage and high-voltage apparatus.

It is constituted as association and counts among its members bodies operating in the certification field, users and manufacturers of electrical apparatus, research institutes and independent testing laboratories.

It is organised in compliance with the Standard EN 45011 (General requirements for bodies operating product certification systems).

It acquired legal status in 1994, when it was recognised by the governmental decree 12th July 1994.

It is a founder member of LOVAG (Low Voltage Agreement Group), body for the issue and mutual recognition of certification of low voltage industrial electrical apparatus within the EU.

It is accredited by ACCREDIA as regards the certification of low and high voltage electrical apparatus, as a consequence, based on the procedures for the certification of the materials intended for ENEL Distribution and to Tema S.p.A., is accredited for the certification of low and high voltage intended for them.

Tests are carried out by laboratories, qualified by ACAE in compliance with the Standard UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories).

It issues certificates of conformity for electrical apparatus in compliance with the Italian, international and European Standards.

Grants the licences to use the LOVAG mark for low-voltage industrial electrical apparatus.

It helps its members as regards the interpretation of Standards, the improvements of the testing procedures and the laboratory management.

It promotes the mutual recognition of the certificates of conformity it issues and of the certificates of conformity issued by other certification bodies operating in Italy, in European Community and in other countries.

It promotes the co-operation with similar bodies operating in Italy, in European Community and in other countries for the harmonized interpretation of recognized standards and a common presentation of the test results.
